Harry Greene is a main character in the Netflix series Heartstopper. He is a student at Truham Grammar School for Boys and a member of the rugby team. He is a rich student who bullies Charlie and his friends.
Personality[]
Harry is a rude, spoiled, and self-entitled young man who takes pleasure in bullying other students. Having grown up in a rich family, Harry loves being the center of attention, throwing massive parties and hanging out with his friends. He is a homophobic bully, being one of Charlie’s main perpetrators and is mentioned to have been transphobic to Elle. He usually hangs out with a group and seems to make jokes at other people's expense as a way to make them laugh, gaining their approval. He is even willing to go as far as calling Charlie a slur, leading to a fight between him and Nick. Whenever someone calls him out for his bullying, he will get defensive and say he is joking around.
In Season 2, Harry seems to have laid off of bullying others, such as casually telling his friends to leave Nick and Charlie alone and not seeming to have an issue when Nick and Charlie come out as an official couple. How genuine his efforts to change are still ambiguous, as he still retains his loud-mouthed personality. At one point, he attempts to apologize to Charlie for his bullying, though it may have just been a way to get into Tara's party.
Biography[]
Background Information[]
Harry was born April 17th, 2005. He grew up in a rich family and had a privileged lifestyle, which likely contributed to his self-entitled personality.
Season 1[]
Harry is on the rugby team and frequently gives Charlie a hard time for being gay. For his sixteenth birthday, Harry hosts a massive party. He and his friends try to get Nick to get back with his old crush Tara, much to Nick and Charlie's annoyance. Nick starts to get fed up with Harry's homophobia and calls him out for it. Later, Harry tries to reconcile with Nick, saying that he was just joking around. Nick seemingly accepts this, though extremely reluctantly. ("Kiss") Later, Harry pressures Nick to go out with Imogen and makes fun of him when they don't end up getting together. ("Friend")
Harry's bullying of Charlie also angers Tao, with the two of them often get into insulting matches with each other. ("Girls") Later, Nick invites Charlie to hang out with his friends to a movie theater, not knowing that Harry and Ben would be there. After the movie, Harry constantly makes fun of Charlie for being gay, eventually leading to him storming off. Nick angrily confronts Harry about this, leading to Harry getting physical. Harry then calls Charlie a homophobic slur, inciting a fistfight with Nick. The next day, Harry starts to give Tao a hard time and steals the shoe potato drawing and asks who Elle is. Tao pushes Harry down and pours juice on him. This leads to a physical fight between the two that forms a big crowd. Nick steps in and helps Tao by getting Harry off him. ("Bully") Following the fight, Harry ends up getting suspended. ("Boyfriend")
Season 2[]
Harry initially still gives Charlie and Nick a hard time. At the bonfire party, Harry interrupts Nick's attempt to come out to Sai, Christian, and Otis, prompting Charlie to push Harry away from him. ("Promise")
On the Paris trip, he is shocked when Ben calls Imogen a "bitch" and calls him out. ("Challenge") Later, Harry is partnered with Isaac for a vocabulary assignment, during which Isaac confronts Harry for his bullying, which seems to not faze Harry. However, Harry seems to start to lay off of bullying others. When one of his friends gives Nick a hard time about Charlie's hickey, Harry casually tells him to leave them alone. ("Heat") During Tara's party, Harry and his friend are not allowed in for being homophobic bullies. He apologizes to Charlie for his previous homophobic comments and promises to never say anything like that ever again. However, Charlie chooses not to let them in, much to everyone's happiness. ("Truth/Dare") At prom, Harry jokes to his friends about how Nick managed to get a boyfriend, but none of them could get a girlfriend. He is later caught by Coach Singh for smuggling in alcohol. ("Perfect")
Season 3[]
Harry appears to now leave Charlie and his friends alone and has no interactions with them. He is seen at the New Years party, where he and his friends light the fireworks. ("Winter") He is later heard bragging about having sex with his girlfriend. ("Together")
